Winter again.

It snowed like crazy today. We ended up with about 8 inches, maybe more. These pictures are the result of a quick snowy walk.

Christmastime

Wow... It's been a long time since I've posted. I guess school, finals and holiday business does that to you. Here's something I've been photoshopping today, all based off of a picture from Imgur.com. I figure it might make a good Christmas background. I just love the way simple, innocent Christmas anticipation is portrayed in a simple picture.

Here are some other photoshopped pieces, just for fun:

Ballerina, pieced together from the stage, the dancer and the skirt. Two alternate versions.

Colorado Mountain Adventures (Mt. Evans, etc.)

Mike and I have been up to visit the Colorado mountains a bit in the past couple weeks, and these are some of the pictorial results. It's been a blast. :)

^ Summit Lake after the long, adrenaline-filled drive up the highest paved road in North America.

^ We couldn't go up the last stretch of the road to the summit of Mt. Evans, but the views above the tree line and of the craggy rocks were worth it.

^ A smaller lake along the way. The drop-offs from the road were a bit scary at times... But that's what makes the drive particularly fun!

^ More of the craggy rocks. I liked the weird plants in the foreground. They were all over the place!

^ I took this picture in an attempt to depict just how steep and intimidating the road can be. That truck looks tiny in comparison!

^ After Mt. Evans, we checked out Guanella Pass in the rain... Which, in Mike's and my opinion, is the second best way to view the mountains. (The best way to view it is in snow!)

^ We had lunch by a pretty little stream. The water was extremely cold and extremely clear... The classic mountain snowmelt!

^ Another view of the little stream.

^ A blurred version of some of the faster-moving water. I kinda like the effect.

^ A clearer version of the above picture.

Photoshop Fun

I recently acquired Photoshop. These are the results of a day's entertainment.

^ My cousin Ally at the lake near my house.

^ As 2012 is the 100th anniversary of Titanic's sinking, I was randomly inspired to create this.

^ A phone background that I made for my aunt.

^ This was a phone background that I made for my cousin.

^ This is a phone background I made for myself.

^ And this was a phone background that I made for my mom!

^ Just some fun with one of my pictures.

^ My new Facebook profile picture.

Assorted pictures from here and there

These pictures have no exact rhyme or reason to them; they're simply remnants of the photography I've liked but haven't put up on the blog yet.

^ A mountain goat at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.

^ At the Denver Botanic Gardens.

^ Again, at the Denver Botanic Gardens.

^ And again, at the Denver Botanic Gardens.

^ Dead bamboo is still pleasant.

^ A nice, brightly colored flower.

^ Mary and Sherrill at the Gardens.

^ Another nice flower.

^ A statue by Allan Houser.

^ This picture has the same colors as my mom's Fiesta plates.

^ A columbine, the state flower of Colorado.

Earth Day tree planting at Goddard

I took these pictures at Goddard for the story I wrote recently for the Gazette about the school getting 33 trees from the Mile High Million plan. Since we couldn't put all of the pictures on the page, I figured I'd upload quite a few of them here. There's still a possibility that we might put the rest up in a gallery/slideshow, but until then, this works.

Spring Moon

I haven't posted in a while, so here's a picture of the moon from last Saturday. It is just another example of why I love Colorado so much!
