Colorado Mountain Adventures (Mt. Evans, etc.)

Mike and I have been up to visit the Colorado mountains a bit in the past couple weeks, and these are some of the pictorial results. It's been a blast. :)

^ Summit Lake after the long, adrenaline-filled drive up the highest paved road in North America.

^ We couldn't go up the last stretch of the road to the summit of Mt. Evans, but the views above the tree line and of the craggy rocks were worth it.

^ A smaller lake along the way. The drop-offs from the road were a bit scary at times... But that's what makes the drive particularly fun!

^ More of the craggy rocks. I liked the weird plants in the foreground. They were all over the place!

^ I took this picture in an attempt to depict just how steep and intimidating the road can be. That truck looks tiny in comparison!

^ After Mt. Evans, we checked out Guanella Pass in the rain... Which, in Mike's and my opinion, is the second best way to view the mountains. (The best way to view it is in snow!)

^ We had lunch by a pretty little stream. The water was extremely cold and extremely clear... The classic mountain snowmelt!

^ Another view of the little stream.

^ A blurred version of some of the faster-moving water. I kinda like the effect.

^ A clearer version of the above picture.
